RDAR Center Lunch & Learn on May 22, 2020

The RDAR Center is excited to invite you to the Lunch & Learn Series on "Principles of Harm Reduction: Strategies for Meeting People Where They're At," presented by Patrick Habecker and Joe Caldwell.

The event will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020, from 12:00-1:00pm, in the Lunch & Learn Series Zoom meeting room. The following event is FREE and OPEN to the public. All are welcome, and there is no charge to attend this event.

Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs. During this session the presenters will briefly review the history and core principles of harm reduction and break into discussion on topics including, but not limited to, safer consumption spaces, syringe services programs, harm reduction policy implementation, and best practices from around the world.

If you have any questions or comments beforehand, please feel free to reach out to Joe Caldwell at jcaldwell4@unl.edu.

Please encourage your colleagues, students, and staff to join the RDAR Center over the lunch hour. Due to precautions surrounding COVID-19, this month the event will be live streamed using a Zoom meeting room, and the Center will hold discussions there until 1:00pm.
